Many students messaged me that they are feeling dejected by the drastic reduction in the number of vacancies. I would like to clarify that the vacancies shown are tentative and will likely increase by the time SSC declares the final result.
The number '0' written in front of various ministries only shows that the departments haven't yet communicated their vacancies to SSC. In fact, the complete list of vacancies is finalized only few days before the declaration of final results.
Some important departments like CSS and Central Excise can never offer zero vacancy, so rest assured that the vacancies will increase in the time to come. By how much? No one can predict as of now, but yes, it is highly likely they may not touch last year's vacancy.
But you should not waste your time in predictions and gossips, especially when the exam is just one month away. Let's take the worst case and accept that SSC has decided to publish only 4000 vacancies instead of 10000. Trust me, clearing an exam with only 4000 seats will give you more pride than clearing a competition which admits 10000 others. A wise man has rightly said -
"If it's hard to get, then it's great to have..."
Wait a minute! that wise man is me :)
All the very best !!!
